Notice of Water System Flushing

Flushing of the District’s water lines will be performed beginning on Monday, February 4, 2019. The flushing may continue until Friday, February 8, 2019.

During these days, you may notice discoloring of the water due to mineral sediment that is being flushed out of the system. The sediment is made of naturally occurring minerals. This sediment can cause permanent staining of clothing and some porous surfaces.

Please check the water before washing clothes or filling your pool or spa.

This flushing is being conducted to perform routine maintenance of the District’s fire hydrants and water mains. EDP expects to complete the work in the timeframe mentioned above; however, discolored water may persist for a short time after the work is complete.

If you have questions about this or other issues related to your water or sewer service please call EDP at 832-467-1599 or visit the EDP website at www.edpwater.com.

Thank you for your patience while this important work is being performed.

Water Main Break

Update: 8:49pm

The leak has been isolated. We have been able to restore pressure to the district with the exception of the portion of the line isolated to make the repair – the entire retail center North of Gaston between Falcon Landing and Greenbush. No homes should be without water. The excavation crews will work through the night to make the repair to the main. Tomorrow morning we will return to flush the water lines and flush out any potential air in the lines. Water pressure was restored at approximately 8pm.

Dear Residents,

The District has responded to a main break at Gaston and Greenbush. At this time it is unclear how long the repairs will take but we do expect service outage to last 5-8 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience as these types of leaks are unpredictable and unavoidable. We will update the website as we know more information.
