Let Us Recycle Those Christmas Trees!

Fort Bend M.U.D. 185 will pick up – and recycle – all clean Christmas trees placed curbside. The date for recycling is Saturday, January 9th.

Please remove your tree base and make sure your tree is not over 5 feet in height before placing your tree curbside. Trees with flocking, lights, ornaments or other decorations can not be recycled, so place only clean trees at the curb by 7:00am. Please do your part this Holiday season to cut down on the unnecessary use of landfill space. We also encourage you – throughout the year – to fill up those curbside recycling bins. For items not accepted in bins, call or visit the Fort Bend County Recycle/Environmental Center at 1200 Blume Road, on the western edge of the Rosenberg city limits.

Hours of operation at the Fort Bend County Recycle / Environmental Center are:

  • Recycling:
    • Monday through Saturday 8:00am – 4:00pm (except holidays)
    • Closed on Wednesdays
  • Household Hazardous Waste:
    • Mondays 9:00am – 6:00pm
    • 1st Saturday of each month 8:00am – 2:00pm

The automated Recycling / Household Hazardous Waste information telephone line is 281-633-7581.

Notice of Mosquito Spraying

The District has decided to begin spraying for mosquitos within the District. The spraying will occur twice a week through November, and thereafter as determined by the District. Because the District contains lakes which contain fish and other wildlife and which attract birds, the District has instructed the company spraying for mosquitos to use a brand of insecticide which is not harmful to wildlife. In addition, although the company spraying for mosquitos has advised that the insecticide poses no health hazard to people, they indicated that if their driver sees people nearby while spraying the driver will stop spraying.

We have attached for your information a link to the label for the insecticide, Evoluer 4-4 ULV which will be sprayed in the District which provides additional information about the insecticide.
